There is no doubt in my mind that Scale Computing is one of the Best Places to Work in Indiana. In fact, as many Scalers would argue, we'd top a worldwide poll any day of the week. That's why when we won an award for the Best Places to work in Indiana earlier this week, we dressed ourselves up and made an evening out of it.
Something special is happening within both the physical and virtual doors of Scale Computing. With full offices in our HQ in Indianapolis, in San Francisco where engineering is based, and amongst all of our remote team members, we're bursting at the seams with activity and so much excitement. When you grow a company quickly, maintaining culture can go through growing pains just like a teenager. We've worked hard to ensure we hire smart, trustworthy people who want to work hard and have fun while doing so. Still, it is not easy and with added pressure and changes comes stress. A few things resonated with me while spending time with my colleagues at the awards dinner:
- We have a great deal of respect for each other as human beings. Asking each other questions that matter is something we do very well. I think that is demonstrated in our work, either when developing amazingly easy-to-use Software or how we service Customers when they call into Support.
- We are very committed individuals - committed to doing right by each other, committed to going the distance, and committed to following up. These sentiments may seem small but they really matter and they add up as we work at them to matter even more.
- We share a set of values that knits us together as a unique and vibrant crew. Each of us arrived here from a different background and bringing our individual strengths, sense of humor, and diverse opinions have enabled us to develop an atmosphere of camaraderie and ingenuity.
I look forward to going to work on Mondays and I know I am not alone at Scale Computing. I hope that we are creating a Product and Service that allows you to feel the same about your Monday mornings and gives peace of mind on the weekend!
