On March 2, I attended the 2020 CRN XChange Conference in San Antonio, Texas, the largest independent gathering of the IT channels best solution and technology providers in North America. I was excited to deliver a presentation focusing on how businesses and organizations are expanding from the data center to the edge with hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI). At the event, I also met with a few of our new and existing partners including iStreet Solutions and Network Solutions Provider.
Scale Computing was proud to win an “XCellence in Solutions Track Presentation” at the event. This continues our award momentum after winning XCellence awards in “Best Midmarket Solution: Hardware,” “Best Boardroom: Premier” and “Best in Show: Premier'' categories at The Channel Company’s 2019 Midsize Enterprise Summit®: Spring and Fall Conferences. Scale Computing was additionally awarded an XCellence Award in the Technology Solution Category at the 2019 NexGen Conference.
This year, I had the opportunity to present to the channel community our new HE150 series and the edge-to-core platform concept, describing how the evolving data center impacts hardware manufacturers with smaller form factor systems. Scale Computing is uniquely positioned to run a full edge-to-core platform because of our unique hyperconverged architecture. We also demoed our road cluster and HE150 cluster at the showcase. You can watch part of CRN’s highlight video (starting at 1:20) from the XChange event here.
The edge computing market is rapidly maturing and it’s creating opportunities across all industries and sizes of organizations. In fact, research from Gartner found that 10% of enterprise-generated data is created and processed outside the data center or cloud, and by 2022, this figure will reach 50%. The next generation of IT infrastructure, like the HE150, expands the data center conversation beyond just the four walls of the production data center to regional offices, VDI deployments, and small branch offices that may only need a single server. An edge-to-core HCI platform like HC3 by Scale Computing offers a unique competitive advantage by being able to handle all of those workloads under a single management console with centralized upgrade management, zero-touch deployments, and custom orchestration.
This XChange event comes after yet another record-breaking year for Scale Computing. In 2019, we achieved a growth rate of over 90 percent in total software revenue and extended worldwide sales as we added hundreds of new customers, including gains in distributed enterprises, strategic partnerships, channel growth, award recognitions and we expanded our HC3 Edge product portfolio.
I want to thank The Channel Company for producing another great event and being amazing leaders for hosting this productive event. It was a valuable networking event for the channel and it was great to catch up with so many partners from the community.
